This is classic Don, clear, concise and Christ exalting. Don loved to preach and teach about Christ, and in Going Home he is in his element, fully expounding Christ both as the only way to heaven, and as the fulness of heaven. In doing so he deals with many common misconceptions about heaven and answers many genuine questions that often arise when we experience the death of a loved one who loved the Lord. Questions such as ‘What is heaven?’, ‘Do God’s saints go to heaven immediately when they leave this world?’ and ‘Are there degrees of reward in heaven?’. Don leaves us in no doubt that he is only able to scratch the surface of this vast subject as he carefully avoids speculation and discourages vain curiosity. Such are the glorious and incomprehensible truths Don writes of that this book is best read slowly and meditatively. We surely cannot, indeed we must not, remain unmoved.

This heavenly glory is the gift of God’s pure, free grace in Christ. Now, if we look for such great and glorious things in the world to come, it ought to affect the way we live upon the earth today. Such a hope of glory ought to inspire in us the utmost consecration to our Lord Jesus Christ.
