This booklet contains the substance of a lecture given in commemoration of the centenary of the formation of the Sovereign Grace Union in its present form. The roots of the organisation go back as far as 1875 and in this lecture Dr Hyde looks at the historical background and considers some of the men who were involved from the beginning – men such as Thomas Lawson, A J Baxter and Thomas Bradbury who, today, would be written off as ‘hyper-calvinists’.
