Faith Cook is a very popular biographer and historical novelist. However, her own story is well worth telling, and here she has done it. She had a missionary childhood in war-torn China, and that is just the beginning of quite a journey. A painful one emotionally, but evidently overruled by the kind providence of God. One issue is highlighted, often not considered, that while the sacrifices made in the service of God by missionaries are well documented, the consequences for their children and spouses are also greatly challenging.
