There is a peace, unshaken, deep and precious, experienced in the tempest’s furious squall; Which, stealing through the weeping storm of sorrow, illumines the dark midnight of the soul.

When He draws near, the billows cease their raging and heaven’s untroubled calm is known by those whose eye can pierce the blackness, and, unflinching, can fix itself on Him who sees and knows.

Thus onward through the night, serenely trusting, they walk in faith, whose heart on Him is stayed: Cheered by that well-known voice, their spirit gladdens – “Be still for it is I – Be not afraid!”
