Issued to commemorate 400 years of the Authorised (KJV) Version of the Bible in 2011. It consists of a series of articles, two by former chairmen of the Trinitarian Bible Society, Alfred Levell and Stephen Hyde. These summarise the coming into being of the KJV in 1611, and emphasize its continuing value today despite the plethora of more modern versions. They deal with some common objections made to the KJV. Also included is a general history of the Bible in English by John R Broome, plus ‘The Translators to the Reader’, issued in the 1611 version to explain the need for a new translation and the principles governing it. This book has some colour as well as black and white photos. It is excellent value for money, and worthwhile reading for everyone.
