John Ashworth (1813-1875) was a preacher of the Word of God in Rochdale. Much of his ministry dealt with the poor and afflicted who had nowhere to resort. Ashworth’s established place of worship was fitly called: Chapel for the Destitute. Strange Tales is a series of real-life stories which were the author’s first hand experiences.
