23 sermons from this great C18th Scots preacher. He served a congregation in Dunfermline for more than 40 years. Not only the church, but the churchyard became thronged with worshippers in this period of revival. He was caught up in the ‘Marrow’ controversy in the Church of Scotland, along with his brother Ebenezer and Thomas Boston, and broadly speaking was in the right. However this does set the context for approaching these sermons with some caution, reflected in Septimus Sears’ preface to the 1863 edition from which this set is taken.
