The Case for Effectual Calling and Regeneration. This was due to be entitled Reclaiming Monergism, but understandably that was too obscure! However this is a staunch defence of the doctrine that regeneration is a work entirely of God. He takes a high view of this doctrine and scripturally evaluates it in support of traditional Reformed confessions over against Roman Catholicism and Arminianism – of continental or English (John Wesley) forms. He also robustly enters into the contemporary debate on total depravity and free will. This is useful overall although maintaining the ‘tension’ view on God’s wills and regarding high calvinism as rationalistic.
