A substantial book. In the Introduction the important contribution made by Calvin to the understanding of the doctrine of predestination is stated. In Section 1 predestination is defined. In Section 2 predestination is explained within the framework of the so-called Five Points of Calvinism. Section 3 responds to eight objections to the doctrine. In Section 4 the author adds comments on Salvation by Grace, Personal Assurance, Predestination related to moderm science, and comparison with Islamic teachings. He ends the book by laying down the practical importance of the doctrine and by a historical review going back to the times of Augustine.
