In the nine letters that make up this book, Huntington sets forth his understanding of the manner in which the Lord works. Above all he emphasises that it is the Holy Ghost’s prerogative to mark out and call, separate and prepare a man, as a true minister of the gospel. Also in his own inimitable way Huntington brings out the true spiritual meaning of God’s Word, in his expositions of Leviticus 8 and 16. Here he takes up the legal requirements of the Old Testament priests, first given to Aaron and his sons; and then clothes them in gospel dress, as he applies them, and sets before us a most striking biblical description of a God sent gospel minister.
