William Huntington (1745-1813) was a prodigious letter writer, spending many hours each day shut away in his vestry at Providence Chapel (which he affectionately referred to in nautical terms, as “the cabin on the good ship Providence”), praying, reading the Bible and writing to his many friends and followers. Following his death, many of his letters were collected up and published as Gleanings of the Vintage (in two volumes) and Posthumous LEtters (in four volumes). They have been read and loved ever since by the Lord’s people.
This volume is published by the Huntington Press to mark the bicentenary of William Huntington’s death in 1813. It brings together for the first time all the previously uncollected letters, a large proportion of which have never previously been published.
