Thomas Taylor (1576-1632) was called to preach whilst at Christ’s College, Cambridge. However as a non-conformist he was ‘silenced’ by his Bishop on a number of occasions for offending remarks. He is more famous for his Commentary on Titus, but this individual sermon on Judges 11:35 is a well rounded study of Jephthah, and a warning against rash vows. This booklet can also be found in the bound Apples of Gold volume 2 (now out of print).
