The sermons of J C Philpot have been appreciated by the Lord’s people throughout the English speaking world and beyond for well over150 years. This volume collects together for the first time another aspect of Philpot’s ministry – that of his Expositions of Scripture. Distinct from his sermon, it was Mr Philpot’s practice, that, having read a passage of Scripture, he would briefly expound it before the prayer and sermon which followed. While briefer than his sermons, these Expositions nonetheless contain a rich treasury of the Gospel for hungry souls.
