There is little doubt that Daniel Allen was the foremost Particular Baptist minister the denomination has known in Australia. Although still remembered by some as ‘Pastor Allen’ in Sydney to this day, it is evident that generally his name has fallen into obscurity. His ministry extended for over 40 years throughout Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales. He was a bold and original preacher, and once preached to an estimated 20,000 people in Hyde Park, Sydney.
