An Orthodox Catechism was first published in 1680 by Hercules Collins, and is a significant work within our Baptist heritage. It is based on one of the most important distinctly Reformed documents over the past 500 years – the Heidelberg Catechism. Recognising its value for Christians and churches, Hercules Collins set out to edit it to conform to Baptist beliefs. This is republished as a lightly edited version of Hercules Collins’ original edition, with the addition of Scripture proofs from the Authorized Version. This edition also contains the appendix that Collins wrote on singing.
