One of the most significant publications on the Gospel Standard Articles of Faith in print. Ken Matrunola, late pastor of Shearer Road Strict Baptist Chapel, Portsmouth, gave a series of lectures on these in the late 1980s – 1990s. The preliminary lecture dealing with the need for Confessions of Faith is transcribed here, and is eloquently argued. Timothy Abbott has then provided a large Appendix giving an explanation of the development of the GS Articles to their current form. This is of great historical and doctrinal interest and value. Much research material has been provided for further study, showing how they reflect a clear ‘Gill-Gadsby’ origin.
