Benjamin Beddome (1717-1795) exercised a faithful pastoral ministry in the Particular Baptist Church at Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds for 52 years. The various aspects of Beddomes diligent labours are unfolded in this book. He compiled a catechism to be used in his church, and took a real interest in the education of the young. However, he is best remembered as a writer of hymns with over 830 being published after his death. These hymns as well as Beddomes letter’s are used to trace out his spiritual experience in this thoroughly researched volume.
